形容詞、副詞
一、形容詞、副詞的比較級和最高級
1．一般在詞尾直接加er或est。如：long—longer—longest。
2．以不發音的字母e結尾的，只加r或st。如：nice—nicer—nicest。
3．以“輔音字母＋y”結尾的，把y變為i，再加er或est。如：heavy—heavier—heaviest。
4．以“一個元音字母＋一個輔音字母”結尾的重讀音節，雙寫末尾這個輔音字母，再加er或est。如：big—bigger—biggest。
5．部分雙音節詞和多音節詞分別在原級前加more構成比較級，加most構成最高級。如：
slowly—more slowly—most slowly；beautiful—more
beautiful—most beautiful。
6．不規則變化的形容詞和副詞。如：many/much—more—most，little—less—least，good/well—better—best，bad/badly—worse—worst。
二、形容詞、副詞考點透析
1．形容詞、副詞比較級和最高級的常用句型及用法。
(1)A＋動詞＋比較級＋than B
A比B……
Tom runs faster than Mike.
湯姆比麥克跑得快。
(2)A＋動詞的否定式＋so as＋原級＋as B
A不如B……
Jane doesn't work so hard as her brother.
珍妮不如她哥哥努力。
(3)A＋動詞＋as＋原級＋as B
A和B 一樣……
My house is as large as yours.
我的房子和你的一樣大。
(4)A＋動詞＋no＋比較級＋than B
A和B一樣不……
You are no cleverer than he.
＝You are as foolish as he.
你和他一樣不聰明/你和他一樣蠢。
(5)主語＋動詞＋the＋最高級＋介詞短語(比較範圍)在……中，×××是最……的。
John is the tallest boy in his class.
約翰是班上最高的男孩。
(6)more A than B 與其說是B，倒不如說是A。
The girl was more frightened than hurt.
這個女孩與其說受傷了，倒不如說嚇壞了。
2．在表示比較的句型中，要注意than，as前後的比較對象的一致性。
The director gave me a better offer than ________.
A．that of Dick's B．Dick's
C．he gave Dick D．those of Dick
(C為正確答案。A、B、D都是Dick的條件或Dick提供的條件，只有C“他提供給Dick的條件”才能與前面的“他提供給我的條件”進行比較)
3．“the＋比較級”特指兩個人或兩個事物中較為突出的一個。
If the manager had to choose between the two，he would say John was the better choice.
如果經理不得不在兩人中做出選擇的話，他會說約翰是更好地選擇。
4．除了“the＋最高級”外，最高級還有其他表達方式。如：否定詞never與比較級連用、比較級＋than any other＋名詞單數、比較級＋than any of the other＋名詞複數、比較級＋than anyone else等。
How beautifully she sings! I have never heard a better voice.
她唱得多好啊！ 我從未聽過更好的聲音。
5．含有名詞的as...as結構需要注意詞序的問題。
(1)as＋adj.＋a/an＋名詞單數＋as
＝a/an＋名詞單數＋as＋adj.＋as
He is as honest a man as you.
＝He is a man as honest as you.
他和你一樣是老實人。
(2)as many＋名詞複數＋as
as much＋(a/an)＋名詞＋as
It is generally believed that teaching is as much an art as a science.
人們普遍認為教書和科學一樣都是藝術。
(3)倍數＋as＋adj.＋名詞＋as
After the new technique was introduced，the factory produced twice as many tractors in 2007 as the year before.
新技術引進後，這家工廠2007年生產的拖拉機是頭一年的兩倍。
6．as...as，(not) so/as...as結構中的形容詞、副詞只能用原級，不能用比較級。
John plays football as well as，if not better than，David.
約翰如果不比大衛踢足球踢得好的話，至少跟他踢得一樣好。
7．senior(年長的，高級的)，junior(年幼的，初級的)，superior(優越的)，inferior(下等的，低劣的)等詞與to連用，表示比較級。
He is three years senior to me.
他比我大三歲。
8．注意下列結構中各個詞的排列順序。
so many/so much/so few/so little＋名詞 (其中的 many，much，few，little等詞都表“多少”之意。little 還可當“小”解釋，這時用such little＋名詞)
(1)Oh，John，what a pleasant surprise you gave me.
噢，約翰，你帶給我的驚喜讓人太開心了！
(2)Can you believe that in such a rich country there should be so many poor people?
你能相信在這麼富有的國家竟然會有這麼多窮人嗎？
(3)As I know，there is no such car in this neighborhood.
據我所知，這周邊沒有這樣的車。
(4)It was so bad a day that I didn't want to do anything.
如此糟糕的一天，我什麼都不想做。
9．倍數的表達法。
(1)A＋be＋倍數as＋形容詞原級＋as B
This road is three times as wide as that one.
這條公路是那條公路的三倍寬。
(2)A＋be＋倍數＋形容詞比較級＋than B
The car is exactly five times more expensive than that one.
這輛車比那輛汽車恰好貴五倍。
(3)A＋be＋倍數＋the＋相應名詞＋of B
The new library is four times the size of the previous one.
新的圖書館是以前的四倍大。
(4)The＋名詞＋of A＋be＋倍數＋that of B
The size of the new square is four times that of the previous one.
新廣場為以前的四倍大。
