Believe it or not most Chinese men can cook.
信不信由你，中國男人會做飯。
And when I say ‘cook’ I mean cook reasonably well too.

After growing up in 13 different countries and 57 years of living this always show up in most Chinese men I’ve came across.
我現在57歲，去過13個不同國家，我碰到的大部分中國男人都是這樣的。
I cannot honestly say the same about most men in most countries — and that’s what makes Chinese men special.

For example Chinese women like to joke that the perfect husband is Shanghainese: he cooks he takes care of the house he’s more caring. Looking for something a bit more manly? Go north where you have the brawnier heavy drinking Dongbei men. Want a successful businessman? A Cantonese-speaking Shenzhen or Guangzhou-living man is what you need.

Seriously China is absolutely huge - it has 3 times the population of the US. As a direct consequence the variety of men is insane. If asked what’s so special about American men how are you going to distinguish between a gun-toting Texan and a metropolitan New Yorker?

In China if you love your wife very much it means that sometimes you have to accommodate your wife's bad temper. Or did you make a mistake in order to express your confession...... You may need to kneel washboard.

Despite the lack of personal hygiene which has been improved over the years mainland Chinese men are more generous than their HK and Taiwan counterparts when treating their girlfriends and wives by which I mean they hand in their salaries and keep a minimun amount for their social activities and daily necessities. This can not be applied to every family but is widely accepted by the women in my province.
中國大陸男人儘管不太講個人衛生，但近些年來已經改善了很多。而和香港和臺灣同胞相比，他們對女友和老婆更加慷慨大方……他們會上交薪水，手裡只留最基本的零花錢。雖然不是每個家庭都如此，但在我們省，妻子們對此有高度共識。

My wife’s dad was a high government official. Very high. Yet he found time to go to the market everyday bring home the veggies and cook as well. And he washed dishes. One day while engaged I saw him on his hands and knees with a rag cleaning the floor.
